Pedro Pacheco’s artistic career encompasses over sixty years of creativity with paintings and photographs, exhibited around the world.
He was born and educated in Spain.
Master’s in fine arts degree from The University of Barcelona (Spain).
His exhibitions from 1970 to the present have included the following cities around the world: Barcelona and Madrid (Spain), London, Antwerp (Belgium), Glasgow (Scotland), Venice (Italy), Tel-Aviv (Israel), Jerusalem and New York. These exhibitions number 45 solo and 96 select group exhibitions.
He has received over 35 awards in his career starting with the Silver Medal SENAL 70 in Barcelona where he exhibited with Joan Miro in Palacio de la Virreina.
He received The Card of Gold given to the Best Foreign Artist International Exhibition in Treviso (Venice), Italy.
In 1972, he exhibited at the Galerie du XXI Siècle in Antwerp, Belgium. The exhibition was sponsored by the Spanish Ambassador to Belgium, Mr. Angel Sanz Briz who served in 1944 as Spanish Ambassador to Budapest. From his diplomatic mission, he confronted the Nazi regime, saving more than 5,200 Jews from extermination. At the Jad Washem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, he was named and recognized in 1991 as Righteous Among the Nations.
In 1973, the BBC in London filmed a report on his artistic career.
In 1976, Her Majesty the Queen of Spain agreed to attend the inauguration of his exhibition of paintings “Towards a Projection in the Cosmos” as a tribute to the author and anthropologist Teilhard de Chardin, in the City of Barcelona (Spain).
In 1995 he was invited by the Mayor of the City of Jerusalem, Mr. Ehud Olmert and his best friend Josef Carmel, Colonel of The Army of Israel, Cultural Adviser of the President of Israel, and Vice-Chairman of The University of Tel-Aviv, to Jerusalem as a guest to work for two months in a studio in the International Cultural Residence Mishkenot Sha’ananim which resulted in a solo exhibition in Jerusalem.
While there he created an art installation located in the area of the Caves of Qumran by burying one of his large paintings dedicated to the People of Israel.
In June 1995 he arrives in the city of New York.
In 1996, the Department of Immigration of the United States granted him the O-1 Visa, considering him a person who possesses extraordinary ability who has demonstrated a record of extraordinary achievement in art and has been recognized nationally or internationally for those achievements.
In 2001 he received a grant award for his career from THE POLLOCK KRASNER FOUNDATION OF NEW YORK.
His painting “When the Morning was Broken,” inspired by September 11, is in permanent exhibition in Washington DC. It is in THE PATRIOT MEMORIAL HALL of the DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency, Pentagon).
In 2006, as an artist-photographer he worked, for the New York Senator, Mrs. Hillary R. Clinton.
He is citizen of the United States since 2006.
In 2026 he visited the islands of Tahiti and Bora Bora in French Polynesia. The color, the peace, the silence, the beauty, and the life within their waters inspire him to create a new series of paintings.
His other positions involving art include as gallery director, curator, judge and art critic.
In September 2011 two of his paintings in the Glasgow Museum are included in The National Patrimony of U.K. and also included in the National Catalog.
His artwork is located in Museums in Glasgow, Venice, Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem and Barcelona, as well as in private collections throughout the world and in The Collections of The Queen of Spain, Elizabeth Taylor, Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clark. Director and Author of the movie “2001: A Space Odyssey,” and other private collectors.
He presently lives in New York State.
